Tarbert Village
The outstanding beauty of Tarbert harbour and the surrounding heather covered hills make for one of the most outstanding sights in the West Highlands. The village itself sits around the harbour, overlooked by the ruined castle of Robert the Bruce, and is home to a small fishing fleet plus first class facilities for professional sailors and enthusiasts alike.
Tarbert is well equipped for the Scottish Series, with permanent pontoons and moorings plus essential amenities. During the Series, there are a range of competitive events on high class, professionally designed courses, everything from Family Cruisers to Grand Prix Racers, meaning that many types of boats and different levels of skill can be seen in action.
But Tarbert has much else to offer too, with its own 9-hole golf course, just one of five in Kintyre, which include the magnificent Championship links at Machrihanish. Kintyre is exceptionally rich in wildlife, and also boasts some of Scotland's best sandy beaches.
Aside from sailing, there are numerous walks, excellent trekking facilities and some world class archaeological and historical sites. Other events taking place in and around Tarbert include the popular Seafood Festival in July and the Music Festival in September.
